It’s 1845. Blight has destroyed the precious potato crop which the Irish people rely upon, leaving a whole country starving. Phyllis is doing her best to support her struggling family when the blight strikes. But when her mother’s health deteriorates, she sets off in search of her rebel brother – and is swept up into the fight for a free and fair Ireland.
