Costa Children’s Book Awards winner!

On 2nd January the winner of the 2007 Costa Children’s Book Award was announced: Anne Kelley’s The Bower Bird. The judges said: The world of life and death, beauty and truth seen through the eyes of a 12-year-old girl. A rare and beautiful book of lasting quality – we felt this is a voice that needs to be heard and read.
These were the other books on the shortlist:
- Crusade by Elizabeth Laird
- What I Was by Meg Rossoff
- Blood Red Snow White by Marcus Sedgwick
