A bumper bind-up book of Ally’s first two adventures. Meet the Love children! They’re weird, but kind of wonderful…
There are days when Ally just doesn’t get the male species. Take Billy, her so-called best mate, who’s being even more annoying than usual. How come she’s having slushy love-type feelings for him? Then there’s odd little brother Tor, and his habit of asking embarrassing questions (“Ally, where do baby mice come from?”). But right now, Ally’s got more pressing concerns – like how to get rid of her love handles!
Ally Love lives with an airhead sister, a space cadet brother and a crazy cat. Somehow, she’s stayed normal – so far!
Always the sensible one, Ally is worrying about the family finances. Her big sister Linn has got a Saturday job, but Ally’s too young to work … unless she’s a wee bit economical with the truth, and braves the mad wig lady in the card shop down the road. And talking of mad, what on earth is going on with Rowan? One minute she’s crying, the next she’s tripping into the house with armfuls of brand new things. If everyone’s so broke, where does all Rowan’s sparkly new stuff come from – the Shopping Fairy? Ally has some snooping to do!
How can sassy Ally and her friends outsmart the mean girls they run into on their school field trip?
Ally knows love makes you do funny stuff, but that doesn’t explain Grandma’s strange behaviour. Sure, she’s got a lot on her mind with the wedding in just a few weeks, but what’s with all the secrecy? And Grandma’s not the only one bitten by the love-bug. It seems Ally’s little brother has a crush on his new teacher. Trouble is, so does Dad! Eeek!
Ally’s feeling inadequate. Her only romantic experience amounts to a burping-in-mouth scenario with Keith Brownlow, but Kyra’s only been in Crouch End two seconds and she’s got herself a boyfriend! Even Ally’s dad seems to be ‘dating’ – has he forgotten all about her mum, who is still travelling the world? Ally will have to engage in some sneaky espionage to discover the awful and cringe-worthy truth! Meanwhile, she can’t decide what’s more worrying: not having a boyfriend, or being invited on a double date with Kyra, Ricardo and Ricardo’s mystery mate.
Oh no! Ally gets a freaky shock when she attracts a Siamese twin: Sandie! Suddenly Sandie’s got the same hairstyle as her, the same outfit and same bedroom decor. Talk about Attack of the Clones! Meanwhile, Kyra’s moaning mum has suddenly turned super-nice. Has Ally stumbled into a parallel universe? Unfortunately not, because there’s still the Nightmare School Project to worry about. Until inspiration strikes and the Raspberry Pink Windowsill Bird Table is born…
Ally’s world is changing. She’s finally got Mum back, but other friends are leaving. And a lovable muppet is tracking her every move. What can the future hold for a girl as cool as Ally Love?
