We read The Hodgeheg at school in our literacy lessons. We were learning about stories with familiar settings.We thought it was sad at the beginning when Auntie Betty got killed but we enjoyed the story because Max finallly found a safe way to cross the road. Our favourite parts of the story were when Max got bumped on the head and got all this words muddled up and when Max was talking to the lolipop lady and all she could hear was squeaking. We loved the book because it was funny and it has a happy ending.
