Journey to the Centre of the Earth

Once an ancient book is opened by the eccentric Professor Lidenbrock, his life – and that of his nephew Axel – is changed forever. An old piece of paper tumbles from the book: a priceless coded parchment that will lead them on the expedition of a lifetime. So begins a journey into an extinct volcano in Iceland: a terrifying journey into the very centre of the earth… and into an underground world of luminous rocks, hidden forests and fantastic sea creatures.

Jules Verne’s adventure classic, which inspired a thousand daring expeditions, is now reissued with a brand new introduction by Diana Wynne-Jones. It also includes a behind-the-scenes journey, author profile and activities.

  • This is a really interesting book. It’s really scientifical – but certainly not in a boring way! I’ve really never read anything like it. It also had some funny parts, which is always best!
