   not for me

   I do not much like this book because even though it has monsters, half bloods, angry gods and deadlines, it has been written is such that it was very hard for me to visualize the story and it’s characters in my mind. Even though there is some great action and humour, yet for me the story does not leap off the pages and did not keep me interested. I won’t recommend this book very highly to modern mythical fiction lovers.

   Percy Jackson thinks he is just an ordinary boy with no father. However, he soon finds out that he is actually the son of Poseidon. With the help of his friends Annabelle and Grover, Percy goes on an adventure where he tries to save his mum from the underworld and restore to Zeus his lightning bolt. This book is crammed with action and adventure. I have read it and watched the film- it is amazing!!!!!!!!

   loved it

   At first I thought that I wouldn’t enjoy this book because I thought is would be for boys rather than girls so I didn’t really get my hopes up, but I was certainly wrong! This book is defiantly for boys and girls of all ages and is one of those must-read books! I saw the film first before I read the book and I think that certainly helped because I could understand the story-line better and get to know the characters . I found it interesting seeing the difference between the book and the film, you may disagree but I found the book way better than the film because you got a better understanding of the characters and their perspective of the situation, which made you understand the plot better. The most important thing about the book was that you could really understand the characters feeling and emotions better and you could easily put yourself in their situation even though the story line isn’t that realistic seeing as most of the characters have a connection with a greek god!

   Percy Jackson is actually a demigod which means that he has one mortal parent and one godly parent, in his case-Poseidon. In this adventure he tries to retrieve Zeus’, the king of the gods, master lighning bolt. I would recommend this book to older readers from 10-16
