Earwig and the Witch

Everyone knows that orphanages are horrible places. But Earwig is perfectly happy at St Morwald’s Home for Children. For a start, unlike other bullied orphans in stories, she always seems to get her own way! So the last thing she wants is to be sent to live with the very strange Bella Yaga – who is actually a wicked witch! Like all wicked witches, she wants a little girl as a servant. But what she doesn’t know is that Earwig has some magical talents of her own. With the help of a talking cat and a spell or two, Earwig means to give that nasty witch a jolly big surprise! Combining fantastic illustrations with a witty, magical story, this delightful novel by Diana Wynne Jones will enchant a new generation of fans.

I’ve never really known who earwig was since her mum Only left a noté from her Only saying earwigs name and i think about 13 witches were after her. This book is quite similar to the worst witch books Only because it has things about witches and spells. Except that this story is about how a witch adopted a girl called earwig and that witch is Very cruel to her. You’ll have to read the story to find out more! I Rated this 4 out of 5.
