  • ‘The Flask’ by Nicky Singer is a magical and exciting book. The main character, Jess, is a loving and anxious person. When her aunt Edie dies, she has to deal with the problems she has to face and can’t escape. The power of the mysterious flask helps her come to terms with the situation. This book is absorbing and I read it quickly because I wanted to find out what happened to her two baby half-brothers. I would recommend ‘The Flask’ to readers aged 9-13 who like mystery.
