The Chocolate Box Girls: Coco Caramel

The gorgeous latest story in Cathy Cassidy’s bestselling Chocolate Box Girls series!

Coco. Blue eyes, fair hair and freckles. A tomboy who loves animals and wants to change the world. It’s the turn of headstrong Coco Tanberry to take the stage in this book – and what is Coco crazy about? Horses! So when Caramel – her favourite pony at the local stables – is sold, it’s only right that Coco secretly scopes out the new owner. When it becomes obvious that they are bad news, can she hatch a plan to rescue her beloved Caramel? With big sister Honey going off at the deep end and Summer still getting better from her eating disorder, there’s no one at Tanglewood to help Coco out. This time, Coco is on her own…

On the whole I liked this book. It is a good portrayal of how we should not judge others mixed with horses and banter to not sound so instructive! It is the story of 12- year old tomboy Coco who is a feisty horse- lover who dislikes Lawrie Marshall! But when they work together to save a horse Coco realizes there’s more to lawrie than firs meets the eye.. It upset me though at the end, though. It shoed Coco and Lawrie getting closer and closer.. I mean even him wrapping his arms around her on a horse.at the end she say? she says(after blushing when ever she sees him) she doesn’t want to be his girlfriend! So a bit of an anti- climax after what they geared you up for… but good on the whole, maybe best for pre- teens.
