Charlotte Sometimes

Charlotte is spending her first night at boarding school, and she’s expecting it to be strange. But when she wakes, the girl in the next bed is not the girl who was sleeping there when Charlotte closed her eyes. And the building outside her window seems to have vanished, replaced by a dark cedar tree! Charlotte has slipped back in time to the First World War, when soldiers are dying at the Front and the girls and women left at home wait anxiously for news. But why has Charlotte stepped back into the past? What is she supposed to do there? Most importantly, how will she get back? Exploring the strange long-ago days of the First World War, this haunting, mysterious classic will stay with you for life.
