Cool as a Cucumber

When the teacher decides to dig a vegetable garden to celebrate the Queen’s Jubilee, Peter thinks B-O-R-I-N-G. But he soon starts to dig up some interesting things: a huge worm, a big beetle, bits of china, an old coin. Then one day, he digs up something that looks like a giant cucumber, but turns out to be a lot more exciting! Who would have thought digging a garden could be such cool fun? A quirky short book from celebrated author Michael Morpurgo.
