My Brilliant Life and Other Disasters

Best friends, enemies, doodles and a thumbs-up from Harry Hill. Nice. A must if you enjoy Dork Diaries or the Rachel Riley books. The girls you first met in My Best Friend and Other Enemies are mates again. Yay! Well, nearly. Jess’s new school comic has been launched to great acclaim, and she’s loving her new-found fame. But guess who feels left out? Natalie! Then Jess discovers that Scarlett, a new cartoonist on the block, is after her comic crown. It’s felt-tip pens at dawn. (And super-funny doodles on every page, of course.)

This is the second book in the series by Catherine Wilkins. It’s just as good as the first one and it is relatable. Jessica and Natalie are best friends again, but things have changed a bit. Remember Amelia, the girl who argued with Jess? Well her cousin Scarlett is a comic artist too and tries to combat Jess’ art!

This book was great! It had a really gripping storyline and was hilarious. This book should be read AFTER ‘My Best friend and other Enemies’ (another great book). I recommend this book to people who like cartoons and for all ages.
