  • This is a fabulous thriller set in Victorian London. It is a sinister story told in vivid language and is based in Bedlam, the famous lunatic asylum. Strange writings are being revealed there which set off an intriguing mystery that the heroine Penelope Treadwell tries to solve. I found this book enthralling; it was so good I couldn’t put it down. The author uses such descriptive language that you easily imagine it in your head. I recommend this book to anyone over the age of 10 who likes mystery and suspense.
